Progress

We had another doc appt today and we are a whopping 1cm dilated and 50% effaced, which doesn't tell us when she'll be here, but certainly tells us we're making progress :)
I have one more baby shower this weekend, then my time will be spend sorting through baby clothes and getting them and the baby blankets all washed and ready. Our due date is March 19th, anyone want to make predictions on when she'll actually grace us with her presence?? Only a few more days until March, so I'd say March is a safe guess, but will she come before, on, or after the 19th?? Exciting stuff!!

I almost forgot!

I had almost forgotten to make a post for this week! I was going to do a Valentines Day post, but with the weather nastiness, I completely spaced, and since my doctor is out of town this week, we didn't have any baby updates. So here I go trying to make up for it ;)

Valentines Day this year was small. There aren't many fun together things to do when you're 8 months pregnant. Not to mention our storm kept us wanting to stay inside. I know, boring! But I felt awful because I wasn't able to find a good gift for Jeff, we spent our morning picking up some pictures at Walmart and then headed home, luckily during the long snowy drive I came up with a great idea of what I could get Jeff for Vday even though he wouldn't get it that day, see... on the 7th of February, Jeff and his younger brothers and his Dad went to a double header hockey game at the "e" center Weber State was playing about 2:30pm and the Grizzlies were playing at 7pm. Jeff LOVES the Vancouver Canucks hockey team because he served his mission in Vancouver Canada. So he wore his Canucks jersey that I got him for Christmas last year, and his hat that he's had FOREVER. He also got out a crappy hat that he never wears to take in case one of the teams got a hat trick. Well he texts me during the Grizz game and tells me he's going to be needing a new Canucks hat... apparently, there was a hat trick and I guess when you're a guy... sentimental things like YOUR FAVORITE HAT... don't mean that much. He got SO excited when the player had gotten hat trick, that he threw his favorite team hat onto the ice with the other elated fans. I was actually sad because that was one of the hats I actually liked.

I couldn't believe he had thrown it and I was a little sad, and he realized he was sad too. He came home and was upset that he hadn't remembered to take in the other hat he had INTENDED to throw in just such an occasion, and threw his favorite. Later that week we were looking on a few websites for a new Canucks hat but they were awful, nothing like the one he'd had. Then, we checked the Lids website and found 4 really decent hats, even one that resembled the now, gone forever hat. So I decided to order him a new hat!
I'm glad we were able to find it! And I think it's probably the best thing I could've gotten :)

He hadn't gotten me anything either (saving money for a kid now!) and he looked sad, I tried to tell him I didn't mind, but come on. Every girl would like a little SOMETHING on Valentines. But I had decided that the thing that mattered most to me was spending time with my favorite person in the world, and that was enough.
After dinner Jeff went outside to shovel snow and when he came back he surprised me with this!
It may seem small to you, but my awesome man called up my sister in law and asked her to make me something special. He told her exactly what to put in the arrangement, cala lillies. My favorite!! (I guess he DOES listen to some things I say :) who knew?) It made my day! I haven't gotten flowers from Jeff since we got married, so this was a BIG deal.

Now for baby updates I guess. We're 4 weeks away. Actually today is like 27 or 28 days away from our due date of March 19th. We are ready for her to come! I still have one more baby shower and then I'm ready to be done! Jeff is getting excited to meet her, I am too! I hope she will be a good baby! The kicking motions have exchanged for squirming and every so often I see an elbow or foot poking out. I must say when I'm sleeping this is MOST uncomfortable, but when I think about not having her there anymore and the lack of motion and feeling of my baby, it makes me sad. Mood swings have set in! Ha ha! I hope I don't get postpartum depression, any suggestions on how to combat it? ;) We are going to the doctor next Tuesday and hopefully we will have started progressing slightly to being dilated. Last time it was nuthin! With as many braxton hicks as I've been having (some slightly painful!) I would hope they've gotten the process started.

We've still been trying to decide between 2 names, but she might not end up with either name...
our 2 favorites so far are Gwendolyn Jenae Judkins, and Chloe Blaire Judkins, although the name Logan has been tossed in a couple times. I wonder which she will look like, because until then, she is nameless other than Our sweet little girl. :)

countdown! 5...

only 5 weeks left! Here's what she looks like at 35 weeks :)

We went to the doctor yesterday and have a new photo, hope you all enjoy! I think it’s amazing the way technology is now, I can see her face so clearly, and I know it’ll mean more when I have her in my arms, but still, it’s pretty awesome! And I marvel that this cute little baby once looked like this…

LOL! She’s already grown too fast. I’m really getting to the point where I’m uncomfortable enough that I would be okay if she decided to come anytime now. I have this weird pain in my left side like I’ve pulled a muscle or something and don’t like that too much. The doctor said it’s because she’s dropping, so I’m glad she’s doing what she’s supposed to. We aren’t dilated at all right now, so hopefully that isn’t a sign that I’m going to be late or anything LOL! We have had 2 baby showers so far, and got some really nice things! Our family and friends are so great to us! I have noticed that there aren’t many outfits we have for her that aren’t MAJORLY pink, so I think before she comes I will go through all the clothes and whatever sizes we will be needing, I will buy some yellows and greens and blues or something. Let’s give this girl some variety! I am a little nervous about knowing when I can take her out of the house and let her be around people… does anyone know when RSV season ends? OR… have any tips on how long to keep her at home before we take her to our regular Sunday dinners with our families or church?

In other news, I’m trying to find some good gluten free recipes for dinners, desserts, etc . So I can feed my husband some things he will like. If anyone has any, please share! This Celiac thing is harder than it looks and we could use some help J

I’m also trying to come up with some cute ideas for Valentines Day… on a budget … so any tips there would be greatly appreciated!

I will continue to try to post an update until she’s here, but if you need an update and don’t see one here, you might want to check on facebook instead.

34 Weeks

Okay, only 6 weeks left now! And while that may seem like a lot of time to some... it's coming way too fast for me! I'm excited to meet our baby girl, but at the same time... I'm going to miss my sleep and being able to blare music on my computer while I clean the house and dance around. I've been a little too large to do any dancing recently, but still.

I'm definitely nesting, I constantly want to clean things, and they never seem to stay clean! At the same time I really wish I could be napping sometimes. My baby showers are starting this week. One of my parent's neighbors is throwing me a shower with all the neighborhood I grew up in. I thought it was VERY sweet of her to do that! That will be tomorrow, then my husband's family is throwing me one on Saturday. My family's shower isn't going to be until February 28th. A little late I know, but the 7th was taken by the Ririe-Judkins family, and the 14th is Valentines Day (not many people would come on that day) and the 21st is the Northridge High School sweethearts dance which my youngest sister is going to, and my mom has to work. So that pretty much dictated when the shower would be. (by the way anyone interested in coming, you can get me your address, or you can just show up... 11am-1pm at the Mountain View chapel on the frontage rd in South Weber and all are welcome to come!)

I went dress shopping with my sister Kori on Monda
y for the sweethearts dance, and I have to say, I'm disappointed in the way dresses are going... I think my MOST expensive dress I got was about $150 and it was modest... Now you are hard pressed to even be able to RENT a dress for under $200 and good luck finding the modest ones. This is a picture of Kori in the dress she bought, it was a gorgeous dress and fit her perfectly! But I kept feeling sad that in todays society there isn't much of a modest selection for these young impressionable girls!Sorry about the photo quality, it's from my cell phone. I'm noticing the color and shapes are way off.

In other news... we were throwing the ball for my dog Copper the other night and it kept going into the baby room. He was having a blast, but then we threw it, and he didn't come back and when I went into the baby room, this is what I found...
My poor puppy had gone under the crib to get the ball and got stuck. That little pouty puppy face just kills me! HA HA!

Well that's all I've got for you all for now. Hopefully something super exciting will happen soon and I will blog about that :)
