So Yesterday was my 23rd birthday. At first I wasn't too excited about it all because Jeff ended up having to go to work because it is commencement for Weber State on Friday and they've been frantically trying to get ready for everything.
First thing in the morning though, I got bombarded with text messages from my sisters and my mom and my youngest sister's best friend Lauren. They were all full of happy birthday wishes, and oddly enough a recording of a song from Nacho Libre... LOL! But they all made me smile! I took the day off work, and though it might sound boring to some of you... I cleaned the WHOLE house and it feels great! After I had finished with my cleaning, it was about 12:30 and I headed out to play with the puppies outside, when all of a sudden Jeff came home!! It was the best thing ever! He came home early from work and we went and got lunch and he went and bought me 2 rosebushes to put in our garden. When we got home from that, there was this BEAUTIFUL boquet of flowers on our front porch. When I brought them inside and read the card, they were from my mommy! I love her so much! She had felt bad that she couldn't take me to lunch for my birthday because she had to work. I will post a picture of those flowers later...
Then Jeff made me the GREATEST dinner ever! He is the best cook! We had ribs and steak fries. I swear to everyone that my husband makes ribs better than ANY restaurant! It meant so much for him to make me dinner. I love you sweetheart! Now that I'm older I am realizing more and more that it really is the little things that make for the best gifts. I got a few gifts from Jeff and a few from his family, but the things that made me the most happy was him coming home from work and making me dinner, and the thoughtful flowers from my mom, and the corny Nacho Libre texts from my sisters. I've come to the realization that I need to appreciate the little things a whole lot more! I had a WONDERFUL birthday! Thank you to all my family and friends! I love you all!
